They say that when you die your brain stays active for 7 minutes.
These are my minutes.

It all ended with a boy.
I thought it started with him too, but I’m beginning to wonder if I’m wrong. I wonder if I’ve been wrong about a lot of things.

I have 7 minutes to figure it out. Just a fistful of seconds to sort my entire life before it slips away from me forever. No one can save me. Not even him. I am my only hope, and I’ve never had much faith in me. But if there’s ever been a time to start believing, it’s now because I don’t want to die. Not after I just learned how to live.

How to love.

~My Thoughts~

I own quite a few books by Tracey Ward so it’s surprising [to me] that this is the first book of hers I chose to read. Especially since she also writes zombie fiction and…Hello, I’m all about zombies.

7 Minutes in Heaven is a strange and beautiful story about Grace Murray, a girl who dies and uses the seven minutes she has before becoming completely braindead to figure out her own murder. I really liked Grace. She’s witty and loyal. She has feelings and faults. She’s real. She feels real while you read the book. Her family dynamic is as true as anyone’s.

The dialogue in this romance/mystery couldn’t be any more brilliant. The pacing is spot on. I was hooked from the first page. The premise reminded me of Before I Fall, but still has a unique storyline. There isn’t anything I didn’t like about this book, to be honest. Even down to the editing–Perfection. Was it the most profound book I’ve read this year? Probably not. But it was highly enjoyable. I was completely captivated from beginning to end. It’s definitely a must read!

~About the Author~

“I don’t write romances, I write relationships. One is pretty and perfect and all consuming. The other is real.”

I was born in Oregon and studied English Literature at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) I love writing all kinds of genres from YA Dystopian to New Adult Romance, the common themes between them all being strong character development and a good dose of humor.
My husband and my son are my world.
