It’s tough being a faery in New Orleans, a city fraught with vampires… especially when their very existence drains your life-force.

Willow Rhoswen, owner of The Fated Cupcake and part-time vampire hunter for the Void is having a rough week. Four years after her twin brother’s mysterious death, Willow’s life is threatened and the director saddles her with a new partner—her ex-boyfriend, David. To her horror, he’s turned vamp, which causes her physical pain whenever she touches him… and any other specimen of the undead.

In order to save Willow’s life, David agrees to turn double agent against the most powerful vampire organization in New Orleans. Or so he says. And she’s convinced they know something about her brother’s death. Unsure where David’s loyalties lie, she turns to Talisen, her childhood crush, to help her solve the mystery.

Caught between two gorgeous men and a director who’ll stop at nothing to control Willow’s gifts, she’ll have to follow her instincts and learn who to trust. Otherwise, she risks losing more than just her life.

My Thoughts

Stop me if you’ve heard this one.

A faery, a witch, and a shifter walk into a bar…

I’m kidding, it was a bakery. 😉

I am seriously bummed that I was unable to write a review for Influential Magic due to a nasty stomach bug that plagued my family recently. But I am thrilled to tell you that I was able to read half of the book before falling ill, and it freaking rocks! And who doesn’t love a cover done by PhatPuppyArt? You can count on seeing a review here in the future.

  • Oh no, hope you feel better!

At first when I saw it was a faery, I wasn’t interested. But this actually does sound good. And I’m on a New Orleans kick lately. 😀 I just might have to check this one out.

    • Thank you, I’m starting to feel better today. Thank goodness.

I’m glad you took a second look. 🙂 You’re on a New Orleans kick, eh? Do you watch The Vampire Diaries? I’m so excited about the spin-off, The Originals, in New Orleans!

      • This is a cute post, Toni. Glad you’re feeling better. And there’s a spin-off of Vampire Diaries in New Orleans? What!?! Yay! I’ve been behind my computer too much. Must catch up. 😀

        • Thanks, Deanna! Yes, there is a spin-off called ‘The Originals’ that will start in the fall. The pilot was in the last episode of The Vampire Diaries. It’s going to be excellent, I think.

    • Thanks for checking it out, Christy!

  • In the process of changing my comments over to Disqus — please be patient. I didn’t delete any previous comments! 🙂 It will take some time for them to move over. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by today!

  • Ooo I hope you are feeling better, and this sounds like a good book.

    • Thanks so much for stopping by! I can’t wait to finish the book and write the review, once this stomach bug has left my house for good.

This looks awesome! Never read a fey book where they focused on something other than goblins, and the courts!

    • I know, it’s been pretty cool so far! I can’t wait to finish it!! Thank you so much for stopping by and checking it out 😀
