The Last Infection chronicles the fall of civilization and the rise of the dead and the evolution of the infected.

The infection swept across the country like a tidal wave. Survivors cling to life as the infected own the night and the dead walk the streets. Chris has endured on his own and bumping into Jake and Alicen weren’t in his plans. The young brother and sister have plans of their own, but Chris has heard too many promises of sanctuary and infection free zones. Jenn’s arrival turns his attention to the one thing he never thought he would face again, hope. They make a pact to reach the kids safe haven, but only time will tell if anyone can survive the last infection.

My Thoughts

The Last Infection is a zombie lovers dream. It’s packed with heart-pounding intensity and characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and cheer on from the very beginning. I was hooked from page one!

Jake and Alicen are trying to survive with their parents, but before long the parents are forced to sacrifice themselves to give the kids a chance to keep on going. And that’s exactly what they do. Being as young as they are, twelve and eight-years-old, they seek out a safe haven. Along the way they meet others who are also struggling to survive and end up joining forces. But that doesn’t make survival any easier in the grand scheme of things.

The Last Infection, provides more than just the undead for zombie fans. The characters also have to contend with the infected, who are not mindless zombies. The infected are intelligent and fast — a fatal combination in a post-apocalyptic world. My worst nightmare, in fact.

Aside from the intense action, which kept me on the edge of my seat, and the perfect pacing of the story, the characters are what made this novel a five star read for me. They are so realistic and believable. It was so easy to put myself in their place and understand what they were going through.

I highly recommend The Last Infection to all fans of zombies and post-apocalyptic thrillers! I will definitely be adding the rest of this author’s books to my TBR.

I don’t think I’d survive very long…..although I would plan to hide! lol

  • PB Simister

    28 seconds later – I’d be dead.

  • Susan Pigott

Probably die before the apocalypse started good- but I won’t make it easy for them. This snack will be “fast food”!

  • Unless I could hunker down and hide- not long. But I am sure I would make a huge buffet! LOL

  • Jeremy Hunt

I would be dead the first day.

  • Steph

    Sadly, not very long, lol!

  • Mr Sir

I dunno if I would make it past the first hour!

  • That kind of zombies is my worst nightmare!! I don’t think that I’d survive a day :'(

  • Trinitee

Hmmm. I think I’d last a few weeks at least.

  • Laura R.

With those kinds, not very long 🙁

  • With the smart ones? Probably not too long. The regular ones, depends on how easily I could get to secure ground.

  • Taren Weisenfluh Atkinson

Not long at all – I’m a diabetic so if the zombies didn’t get me, the diabeetus (said in an intentional Wilford Brimley style) would do me dirty.

  • Margo Bond Collins

Oh, I don’t even want to think about it! Probably a little longer if I were protecting my daughter than if not . . .

  • Scifigreg

Tough call. I think I could avoid or confront traditional zombies, but the fast, intelligent ones could be a problem. With food and water sources a priority for the living, they would know to use them as traps. If I could make it the first few months or so, I’d be okay.

  • Lindsay Galloway

With the traditional slow zombies, I may be able to survive for a few weeks, or maybe months. Fast, intelligent zombies? I’m lunch.

  • Pheebz Petenstine

If they are the fast type I am a goner. The best I can hope for is to be paitent 0

  • Sabrina Taylor

I wouldn’t be able to straight out outrun them but I would quickly figure out a way to outwit them. I would do the best I could, accessing all available resources.

  • Jami Broveak

Fast and smart? Not much of a chance there..

  • Lori Hopkins

Fast and intelligent…probably would go down in the first wave. SLower ones, I might stand more of a chance, lol!

  • Megan Godfriaux

I’m not sure but I think I could last a very long time unless the mrsa came back 🙁

  • Nikki Johnstone

Hmmm…. depends on what kind of guns and ammo I had. I’m sure I could be equally as fast and intelligent as any zombie if I had the right kind of weaponry…

  • marypreston

I think I would be one of the first to go.

  • Nastasia Alexandria Nazar

A long time if I was careful.

  • Becky Stephens

No doubt I’d be a goner with fast and smart zombies.

  • Traci

What a nightmare…I don’t know if I’d make it a long time. Hard to say, but it’s an interesting question..

  • Lori F

I think with fast and smart zombies I’d be a goner pretty quick. But if they were slow and stupid I’d probably be around for quiet awhile, if I found the right place live.

  • Tia

The fast smart ones would get me. I think I could survive the slow stupid ones.

  • Amanda Fuscone

I would be able to stay away from slower zombies but the faster ones would catch me

  • Amy Mccool

I think I have been trained pretty. I do ok.

  • Michelle Willms

Unless I had a safe location, a great supply of long guns with endless ammunition and a flawless backup person, the fast zombies would be dining on me almost immediately. If we add in the intelligence factor – having smart zombies that are ALSO fast, I’m a sure goner. 🙁

  • Mary DeBorde

Regarding fast/intelligent zombies – If time could be measured in NEGATIVE increments, that is how long I’d last. With slow/remedial zombies hopefully there’d be enough time for me to finish off that last slice of chocolate cake in the frig. :O

  • Ariel Mathis

    Would love to read this!!

  • Joani S

My chances are good with the slow moving ones, but if I had to deal with fast, intelligent ones, I just don’t know. I had full replacements in both my knees, so I doubt I could outrun them!!

  • Monica G.

Fast, intelligent zombies!? Oh hell no, I’d be the first to go! Lol.
