Top Ten Tuesday: Freebie

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new topic is given and this week’s topic is: freebie (which means I can post anything I want).

I’ve decided to stick with the ‘freebie’ theme and post the top ten Kindle Freebies I can’t wait to read. You’d think that reading your own Kindle Freebies would be a simple task, but being a book blogger that is rarely the case. So here are my top ten Kindle Freebies that wait patiently to be read.

Clicking on the Book Cover will take you to Goodreads

The Virus spread. Billions died. The Ending began. We may have survived the apocalypse, but the Virus changed us. When people started getting sick, “they” thought it was just the flu. My roommate, my boyfriend, my family…they’re all gone now. I got sick too. I should have died with them—with the rest of the world—but I didn’t. I thought witnessing the human population almost disappear off the face of the earth was the craziest thing I’d ever experience. I was so wrong. My name is Dani O’Connor, I’m twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.

Nara Collins is an average sixteen-year-old, with one exception: every night she dreams the events of the following day. Due to an incident in her past, Nara avoids using her special gift to change fate…until she dreams a future she can’t ignore.

With all the vampire, werewolf and faerie books out there, it’s easy to become numb to all things supernatural. The antidote? Darkhouse introduces two real and unforgettable characters, Perry Palomino & Dex Foray, amateur ghost hunters who are “attractive, relatable and oddly heroic,” “flawed but loveable,” “slightly crazy” and just the most endearing pair to ever tackle the paranormal…just don’t call them normal.

When sixteen year-old Ben McCloud moves to Black Hill Farm, he soon falls in love with the mysterious and seductive Andrea Black.
Finding themselves alone on this remote farm and desperate to stay together, Ben and Andrea’s world spirals out of control. As they fight for survival, every step they take leads them into an ever darker world of forbidden love and despair. A dark romance with a deadly twist.

Eighteen-year-old Sage Hannigan wants to get back to her own time, preferably one that hasn’t been destroyed by an underworld plot brewing in Edwardian-era South Carolina. How hard can it be?

All she has to do is:

1. Learn to use newly acquired warping skills to bend time to her will.
2. Take out a few rogue vampires.
3. Join an ancient secret society.
4. Figure out who is putting the time stream in jeopardy.
5. Find and maim whoever invented the corset.

Sage never asked to be chosen by the Druid Priestess, Amerach, to become a Warper. She also never asked to have the future hanging on her shoulders or to warp a hundred years into the past. She certainly never asked to meet Dr. Aldwin Blake, who would make her question her desire to get back to her own time. But if she fails her mission, people will die, history will change, and the present she wishes to return to will be no more.

“For the first time in my life, I didn’t feel envy…” Tess is the exact opposite of her beautiful, athletic sister. And that’s okay. Kristina is the sporty one, Tess is the smart one, and they each have their place. Until Kristina is diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly Tess is the center of the popular crowd, everyone eager for updates. There are senior boys flirting with her. Yet the smiles of her picture-perfect family are cracking and her sister could be dying. Now Tess has to fill a new role: the strong one. Because if she doesn’t hold it together, who will?

Eighteen-year-old Jenny Morton has a horrific secret: her touch spreads a deadly supernatural plague, the “Jenny pox.” She lives by a single rule: Never touch anyone. A lifetime of avoiding any physical contact with others has made her isolated and painfully lonely in her small rural town. Then she meets the one boy she can touch. Jenny feels herself falling for Seth…but if she’s going to be with him, Jenny must learn to use the deadly pox inside her to confront his ruthless and manipulative girlfriend Ashleigh, who secretly wields the most dangerous power of all.

After discovering her destiny as a witch, Anora is on a mission to find out everything she can about the magical world. Unbeknownst to her, the creatures of that world are trying to find out everything they can about her…and the people closest to her. With Ethan and Hunter to protect her, Anora feels safe and happy with her new life. That is, until she begins to be plagued with terrifying visions that only she can see, leaving her full of fear and doubt. What if the hallucinations are real? What if there is something dark out there that can attack her from within?

In a post-apocalyptic world, a viral epidemic has wiped out most of the earth’s population, leaving behind few humans but untold numbers of mutated vampires. April is a seventeen-year-old girl who lives in the remains of Las Vegas one year after the outbreak. She has become a ferocious vampire killer and after her family is abducted, she goes searching for them. What she finds is a new breed of vampire, unlike any she has seen before. Unsure of whom she can trust, she discovers that her view of the world is not as black and white as she once thought, and she’s willing to bend the rules to rescue her family. But in trying to save them, she may only succeed in bringing her fragile world crashing down around her.

A woman without a past…

After a tragic accident left her with no memory, Kate Alexander struggled to fit in with a husband and world that didn’t feel right. She’s had no reason to question what friends and family have told her, not until her husband is suddenly killed and she finds a photo of a young girl in his office. A girl who can’t be anyone but a daughter Kate didn’t know she had.

A man desperate for a reason to live…

Ryan Harrison lost his wife in a plane crash five years ago. To cope with the pain of her loss, he dedicated himself to his job and to raising their daughter. Now a successful pharmaceutical executive, Ryan has everything a man could want—money, fame and power—but he’d give it all up in a heartbeat for just one more day with the woman he still loves.

Two lives about to converge.

As Kate begins to dig into a past she doesn’t remember, evidence leads her to San Francisco and puts her on the path toward Ryan, a man who sees in her the woman he loved and lost. Kate feels a draw to Ryan, one she can’t explain, but is that feeling enough to convince her this is where she’s supposed to be? As Ryan and Kate search for answers, they uncover lies long buried, a passion hotter than either expected and a danger that threatens…even now…when the second chance they’ve both been searching for is finally within reach

Follower of Jesus, loving wife, homeschooling mom, blogger, author, gamer, and a lover of the culinary arts. Toni lives in Michigan with her husband and four children. • I had I’m Not Her on my list for a bit to read, I think. A Reign of Blood sounds awesome, Goodreads is doing a contest for it too so I just signed up :).

    • Have you read anything by Alexia Purdy before? Ever Shade (A Dark Fairie Tale #1) is always free on Amazon. And Evangeline (A Dark Fairie Tale #0.5) is also free. By the way, Reign of Blood has lending capabilities on Amazon so I can loan it to you anytime you want. Just let me know 🙂 She has a new adult book coming out on Friday called Breathe Me. I’ll be participating in the Release Day Blitz.

      • Oh thanks! Right now I am swamped but remind me about Reign of Blood in like a month or so 🙂 thanks.

  • Awesome list and in fact Dark House and Jenny Pox are on my nook!!! I am off to check out the others ..cause every addict needs more books!

    • I couldn’t agree with you more! 🙂 No reason I shouldn’t add to your TBR pile since you are always adding to mine. haha

  • Susan Kennedy Jensen

Wow, these all sound good! Are you getting them free from Amazon or through Netgalley or Edelweiss? I’d love some of these for my own Kindle library (’cause I don’t have quite enough unread books on there already – LOL).

    Happy TTT!

I like this topic. I tend to get lots of free Kindle books or .99 cent books and then never actually read them. It’s a terrible habit.

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

Kindle Freebies are great but also pretty dangerous, haha! I picked up Jenny Pox when it was a Kindle freebie too, but I haven’t gotten round to reading it yet. Great topic!

Thanks for stopping by my top ten!

    • They definitely can be dangerous! I used to download almost every freebie until I realized some of them are just horrible, and my Kindle started getting too full. 🙂

  • Super! I’m so pleased to see someone recommend freebies. Sometimes it feels there are just too many to choose from. Thanks very much for this list. 🙂

    • You’re very welcome! I research them first before I recommend them, too. Obviously I can’t guarantee they’re good, but I do check the reviews on Goodreads and such before I download them or post them to my Facebook page.

  • It’s funny ’cause I have all of these except two waiting to be read on my Kindle, too, lol. I don’t have Wait for Me or Contingency. I’m excited for all of them.
