#zOctober Interview with Shannon Eckrich & Giveaway!

Welcome to the penultimate day of zOctober 2013! I know this next post has nothing to do with zombies (sorry!), but I decided to sneak Shannon on here anyway. 😉 Adding a paranormal ghost story the day before Halloween is certainly a wonderful addition to the event and this blog. I want to make sure everyone is aware of her awesome new paranormal release.

Let’s all give Shannon a warm zOctober welcome, shall we? Muah.. give us a kiss, Darlin’!

Death is her destiny. But she has other things in mind.

Lia Starr’s life isn’t a fairytale. It’s a reality overflowing with scary monsters, death, and betrayal—a past she left behind when she entered her new foster home. Now, with a loving family, a sister she’s always craved, and relief from the gruesome corpses that tormented her as a child, she’s finally content. Until a freak accident changes everything.

The monsters are back, and their mission is simple: drag Lia straight to their murky hell. When Aiden, an apparition, appears to Lia, she has hope once again. Because Aiden can cross the veil between the spirit world and the earthly dimension, physically fighting off the monsters and sending them back. With Aiden’s determination to keep her safe and his absorbing blue eyes, Lia can’t help falling in love with him. But who is he, and what does he really want? As Lia and Aiden’s relationship deepens, so does the mystery surrounding him.

Once Lia finds out Aiden has traded his soul to save her, she enters the darker dimension, a dimension where nightmares are reality, ready to kick some serious butt. But surrounded by twenty-eight mutilated monsters and a deranged cult leader intent on bringing his dark world to the surface, isn’t what Lia expects. And even worse, she must face her traumatic past in order to destroy them. If she fails, not only will she lose the guy she loves and face certain death, but she will also risk the one thing she can’t afford to lose: her eternal soul.

~Interview with Shannon Eckrich~

Hi Shannon. It’s so great to have you here on My Book Addiction!

Thank you so much! It’s super awesome to be here today!

Can you tell us a little about Lia? Give us her character bio.

Lia Starr has this amazing gift that gives her the ability to see ghosts. But she doesn’t think it’s amazing at all since they appear to her as mutilated corpses. Not only does she have to deal with this unwanted gift, but she has also been tossed back and forth between foster homes after the death of her grandparents. Instead of dealing with the pain from her past, she chooses to push everything down inside of her and shut out the world. Until she meets Aiden. After that, everything changes.

What makes Haunting Lia stand out from the rest of the paranormal books on the shelves today?

Haunting Lia takes the typical monsters under your bed and twists it into something very real and terrifying. While there are many monsters and ghosts for the dark paranormal lovers, there’s also plenty of romance weaved into the story for those who crave a little bit of both worlds.

How closely do you relate to your characters?

I’m a lot like Lia. I tend to push everything down instead of confronting my problems. Sometimes I just find it easier. But don’t get me wrong, like Lia, I can put up a pretty good fight when I have to.

Since this is zOctober I have to ask… are you a fan of zombie fiction?

Yes, I love zombies!!

How would you fare in a zombie apocalypse? What about Lia.. would she survive?

Ha, ha, I think I would do pretty good as long as I stay ahead of the crowd and head toward the water. Lia, on the other hand, would think it’s a great opportunity to kick some serious butt. She’d definitely be a survivor.

What can your fans expect to see from you in the future?

They can continue seeing more stories on the lighter and darker side of the paranormal genre. I love the YA paranormal genre, but not as much as I enjoy bringing happiness to my readers and fans!

Thanks so much for spending time with us today, Shannon! It’s been a blast getting to know you a little better. I look forward to reading Haunting Lia very soon!

Thank you so much for having me!
