Howdy, book addicts 😀 Today is my stop on the Meet My Character Blog Tour! The fabulous Jo Michaels, author of I, Zombie, The Mystic Series and more, chose me to help keep this tour moving forward. Thanks so much, Jo! Please head over and meet the character from her upcoming novel here when you’re done.
So, let’s get this party started, shall we? I’m only about 14k into my current WIP, but I will answer these questions to the best of my ability. I don’t have a cover for my book yet, but I assure you I’m working on it. Feel free to check out my inspiration board on Pinterest to get a visual of the characters and setting and the images that help push me forward on this crazy adventure.
What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person? Elodie. She’s the main character in my YA dark fantasy tale, and very much fictional.
When and where is the story set? The story is set in present day in the quaint town of New Hope, PA.
What should we know about him/her? Elodie is a necromancer. Do not mess with this girl, or the people she loves, unless you want an undead army after your ass.
What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life? Her parents died when Elodie was five-years-old. She’s been raised by foster parents who have ulterior motives for taking her in. Through a series of dreams, and with the help a hot new guy at school, Elodie learns that her parents weren’t the run-of-the-mill mom and dad and that their deaths weren’t accidental.
What is the personal goal of the character? Elodie’s primary goal is to hunt down the coven that destroyed her family.
Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it? There is a working title, but I already know it’s not going to stick.
When can we expect the book to be published? My goal is before June 2015
Next up on this fabulous tour is Lori Parker from Contagious Reads. Her character post will be available for your reading pleasure next week. Like me she’s not published yet, but we’re racing to get these books into your hands. She is one talented writer, working on several different stories at once. I can’t wait to see which character she’ll introduce us to!
